Wood Slat Acoustic Panel by DECIBELShop Now

Our Acoustic Panels are expertly crafted to reduce echo and improve speech clarity. Perfect for a wide range of environments—from bustling offices and creative studios to home theaters and public venues—these panels combine high-performance sound absorption with stylish design elements. Whether you need a functional solution or a design statement, our panels provide both. Using our unique open-back design they absorb sound waves on both sides of the panel when hung from ceiling using chain or wire.

They are quick and easy to install using a variety of available methods, plus the inner wood frame provides additional endurance to withstand possible impacts to the panel edges (useful for busy hallways, basketball courts and sports centers, etc) and is easy to install using clips or hooks.

Select from a variety of thicknesses, edge profiles, fabric colors and textures - custom fabrics are available by request.

To achieve a good result, it is important to get enough coverage for the size of the space and specific usage of the panels - our team members will be more than happy to help you choose the right amount of coverage for you.

When selecting the panel size please keep in mind that using smaller panels may require a larger quantity and take longer to install than larger panels, while larger panels may incur higher shipping costs (due to the larger package size) and may take additional help to install.

How do I choose which acoustic panel thickness is right for me?

  • 1 inch thickness: the thinnest panels we offer, but still very effective! Especially for human voice or higher sound frequencies (mid/treble), so ideal for conference and meeting rooms - excellent for wall panels since they don't stick out too much from the wall.
  • 2 inch thickness: more effective than the 1 inch, especially for larger spaces and spaces with lower sounds such (mid-bass and up), for example meeting rooms where people with boomy voices, sports centers, and generally larger spaces other than rooms dedicated to music production and similar professional highly-sensitive sound environments.
  • We highly recommend using 2 inch panels on the ceiling and 1 inch panels on the walls, for a balance of beautiful aesthetic appearance and very effective acoustic treatment / echo reduction.
  • 3 inch and 4 inch thicknesses: absorb even more bass and lower sound frequencies, perfect for professional highly-sensitive sound environments such as recording, mixing and mastering studios, and other spaces with full-range music. 4 inch is ideal, 3 inch is also good for example when space is too tight for 4 inch, or when music is full range but not too bass-heavy.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions. Here are some common questions about Acoustic panels.

How do acoustic panels work?

Acoustic panels work by absorbing sound waves, reducing echo and reverberation in a space. They are made from sound-absorbing materials like fiberglass and wrapped in acoustically grade fabric. They trap sound energy, preventing it from bouncing off hard surfaces. This helps improve sound clarity and overall acoustics in a room.

What are the benefits of using acoustic panels?

Acoustic panels offer several benefits, including improved sound quality by reducing echo and reverberation. This leads to clearer speech and better audio in offices, home theaters, recording studios, etc. They also help create a more comfortable environment by reducing noise pollution and enhancing privacy. Additionally, acoustic panels can improve focus and productivity in workspaces, and their design can add aesthetic value to a room.

How many acoustic panels do I need?
The number of panels needed depends on the size of the room, its acoustic characteristics, and your desired level of sound control. Generally, larger rooms or spaces with hard surfaces will require more panels to achieve effective sound absorption. Acoustic consultants or calculators can help determine the optimal quantity for your specific situation.
